Launch: mission, ambition, intentions
G’day everyone. This is a quick launch post about the mission, my ambition, and my intentions. A launch is just a stepping stone in a long journey. Still, it matters, because it’s the moment a whole new set of people first run into ideas that have mostly lived privately for months. I’m assuming most people are sick of startup launches and “the next big thing”, so I’ll keep this simple. Syxon is not a harbinger of narratives built to fit an investor storyline.
Syxon is an entity that seeks to produce more good than harm, by making complex systems more democratic, more traceable, and more decentralised. I strongly believe that once this is real, we can get outcomes that are more morally and ethically conducive. If you want to go deeper, I’d suggest starting with my research on Ethical Attractors, and the idea that in complex systems there are simple knobs we can actually turn, in ways that help the system evolve for the better.
Proceedings paper (PDF): Ethical Attractors: Universal Patterns of Cooperation and Fractal Emergence in Complex Adaptive Systems.
Humankind has always chased an ideal of betterment. But in that journey, a lack of humility, and a lack of respect for how intense entropy really is, tends to lead to collapse. That’s why I believe in democratising the future. The best way forward is the most heavily deliberated, by the people who will actually live inside the consequences.
That’s how we minimise the suffering we endure, and the suffering we impose on the fellow systems around us.
